“Before I Die is an interactive public art project that invites people to share their dreams in public space. Abandoned properties in New Orleans are transformed into chalkboards with grids that say, “Before I die I want to _______.” Passersby can use chalk to write on the wall and remember what is important to them in life. Before I Die transforms neglected spaces into constructive ones where we can learn the hopes and aspirations of the people around us. This project will expand to other cities. “

This just gave me a different outlook on expanding art in New Orleans. I’ll be sure to take a visit there next week.
